KARRINATOR AKA Karri Mikkonen

Karri is a producer and songwriter from Jyväskylä, Finland. Karri is moved to Japan in March 2025 for a one year stay. Karri started playing drums at a young age. He has done music production and played in multiple bands for most of his life. He has studied music production at Tampere University of Applied Sciences. As a producer, Karri is very versatile and handles many different styles of music from pop to orchestral, for documentaries, movies and video games. Karri got interested in the Asian pop music scene and developed a special interest for Japanese culture, lived in Japan for 5 months and also studied and learned to speak the language. In 2018 Karri signed a publishing deal with Sugar House Publishing to take the interest of Asian music further. 

Karri has achieved Japan No 1 releases which he co-wrote and produced. Snow Man is one of the biggest Japanese boy groups, and their single Dangerholic released in September 2023 included the song DA BOMB as a b-side, selling TRIPLE PALTINUM (869k units) the first week of release. The Japanese boygroup Naniwa Danshi released their double single Make Up Day / Missing, including the edition b-side UMBRELLA, co-written by Karrinator, Kazunari Okada and Tomoki Tamatani.  

Karri co-wrote and produced the hit single Breaking Dawn from the k-pop group THE BOYZ's Japanese album also titled Breaking Dawn. The song includes lyrics in Korean, Japanese and English. Karri co-wrote and produced Da Ke Bu Bi, which was released by the Chinese artist Bunny Zhang. He also co- wrote and produced ”OFF/ON” for Hong Kong girl group COLLAR, as well as MC 張天賦 X 洪嘉  豪 Hung Kaho song, “二損一 Why Not Both”. With same team he co-wrote and produced COLLAR's single IDC (I don't care).

Karri  co-wrote  and  produced  the  single “ Ya p p a  A r e  D a  N a ” released by the Japanese artist KAMIN, 

as well as the song “DANNA”  released  by Saki Misaka, “HERO” by WARPs  UP  and  produced 

“BONE” by the band NOILION. “Like You” , the first single, released by the Chinese virtual human MAIE from 

AVASTAR label, was also produced and co-written by Karrinator.

Karri has produced indie acts from Finland such as Nightstop and Founding Neverland, Hopeinen Skorpioni and VELA. He has also released his own electronic music by the name “Kaster The Disaster”.
